Holy Crêpe!

Worship on Sunday was amazing. The band was kickin’, and the sermon was hilarious. Then we went to someplace we’d been meaning to try, Crêpes ‘N Crêpes. It’s located in Cherry Creek North, it’s a quaint little crêpe restaurant serving only crêpes. It was my first time eating a crêpe (Elijah’s first time too). I would totally go there again.

Yesterday

Well, we survived the day, though at 9am, I wasn’t sure that was gonna happen. Elijah wasn’t having a good morning listening to Mommy or sharing his toys. The rest of the day was spent trying to make sure neither Elijah nor I caught strep. Lastly, it was the third anniversary of Dad’s passing. I had a cry on the phone with Lisa, and then I felt better.

Geoff came home with a present for me (for the both of us)…

I plowed through it, stopping only to eat dinner. It was good, but left me with a ton of questions. I suppose now I will have to reread the past 12 books, and possible The Beatrice Letters. I can’t wait for Geoff to read it so we can talk about it.

I’m gonna close with a quote from Dragnet.

Joe Friday: After losing the two previous vehicles we had been issued, the only car the department was willing to release to us at this point was an unmarked 1987 Yugo, a Yugoslavian import donated to the department as a test vehicle by the government of that country and reflecting the cutting edge of Serbo-Croatian technology.

They’re Here!

Yay! Stephanie & Athena are here! They got in alright, and are getting settled.

What a sweetie Stephanie is. I think she’s sweet on me too. Everything I do she thinks is funny. And she and her mom are quite smitten with Elijah. This is gonna be a fun visit.

Weekend

Check out the shutterfly album, Family Photos to see pictures from this weekend.

Saturday we checked out the Pumpkin Festival at Four Mile Park (which is across from our old apartment. We met Amy, Shaun & Caley there. We parked at Cherry Creek Mall and walked the path there. It was lovely with all the ravine in it’s fall colors, and perfect weather. This morning we all rose early to go to the Race For The Cure, in downtown Denver. A chilly morning, but at least it didn’t rain like it’s raining now. In any case, I wasn’t up for checking out the Downtown Peet’s, I just wanted to go to my nice warm home and have a nap. 🙂

In two days, Athena & Stephanie will be here. I’m sure I’ll have more pictures to share then. Speaking of visitors, Lisa has nearly got her flight booked. This will be her first visit to come see us in the States. She’s coming March 1st (or 2nd), just after the new baby comes. She’ll be the first family to see the baby in person. Very exciting. I’m almost counting down the days.

It’s not too early to get into the Christmas mood, so I’m closing with a quote from Elf.

Emily: You like sugar, huh?
Buddy: Is there sugar in syrup?
Emily: Yes.
Buddy: Then YES!

Tidbits

– I finally started one of my projects I had been putting off (painting some wood letters). It’s maybe halfway done. And I have everything I need to start my next one (a Christmas project). Yay!

Happy Anniversary to Andrew & Athena!

– I spoke with Dawn for over two hours on Tuesday. I love that gal!

– I badly want to get out and do something Fall-ish. Like go to a pumpkin patch or something.

– Last night I got a good night sleep. I needed that.

Just wanted to let everyone know I’m still here, and everything is going great.
